Labor committed to advancing education in Canberra

I welcome Dr Ben Jensen’s comparative analysis of Australian and East Asia schools in his recent report, ‘Catching Up’.

In light of Dr Jensen’s findings, it is worth pointing out the significant cultural and historical differences between Australian school systems and those in Singapore, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.

Canberra schools are unique institutions, valued by all in our community. We have an excellent education system that stresses fairness, equality, and educational achievement.

I look forward to further analysis of Dr Jensens’ findings to determine where opportunities exist to enhance our performance here in Canberra.
