I was very pleased to attend to Melba Copland Secondary School's graduation ceremony today. These students have shown true commitment and perseverance over a lengthy period of time and they all should be very proud of their achievements.
Melba Copland Secondary School is an innovative school and has an excellent reputation with their creative approach to learning. This is demonstrated through their success in the Tournament of the Minds, F1 Engineering Competition and media and arts photography achievements.
The achievements of this graduating class are also a testimony to teacher excellence at Melba Copland Secondary School.
My Government places a very high priority on teachers and their development through the significant investment to improve teacher quality and increase school based decision making.
This continued investment has the potential to transform teaching and learning practices to provide each student with more positive ways to learn. The outcomes at Melba Copland Secondary School for this graduating class show how successful this approach has been.
In graduating, each student has reached an important milestone in their lives which should be looked upon as a great achievement. I would like to congratulate each student on their achievement and wish them every success in the future.
