This weekend eight Canberra based companies will depart Australia on a Trade Mission to Washington DC in the hope of winning business in the trillion dollar US public sector market.
This visit marks the fourth ACT Trade Mission to Washington since 2003 and is a great opportunity to showcase the unique expertise in government services companies in Canberra have to offer.
It’s also an opportunity for these local businesses to put into action the strategies they have developed through their participation in the ACT Exporting Solutions to Government Pilot Program – a program that gives local businesses the knowledge and access to networks they need enter the US market.
The companies participating in the Trade Mission include:
Over the last 10 weeks, these companies have been looking at every aspect of their business to see if it meets the requirements from an American public sector client point of view. They have been adapting their websites, preparing white papers with Australian references, developing partner strategies and looking at options for representation in the market.
Each company will have its own business matching program while in Washington and there will also be a number of networking events scheduled to provide the companies with access to business leaders and US public sector decision makers.
Previous Trade Missions have been very successful in this market with local companies including Tower Software, Noetic Group, CEA Technologies, EOS and Kord Defence all building strong US business with the support of previous ACT Government Trade Missions.
The ACT Labor Government will continue to find ways to better highlight the capabilities of Canberra businesses and build these important relationships.Media Contact:
