Attorney General, Simon Corbell has today announced the appointment of Ms Elizabeth Symons as a new part-time Presidential Member of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
"Elizabeth Symons is a respected member of the ACT legal fraternity, and will bring valuable experience and skills to the tribunal," Mr Corbell said.
Ms Symons started her legal career in Queanbeyan as a family law solicitor and a litigation solicitor in 1975.
Since 1994 she has held a number of judicial and public appointments including:
"I am sure this appointment will be welcomed by the ACT legal profession, among whom Ms Symons enjoys a strong reputation," Mr Corbell said.
"Ms Symons' previous experience will place her well to deal with the challenges that will be presented to her during her time as a part-time Presidential Member of the ACAT, and I wish her well in her new position."
Ms Symons has been appointed for a period of seven years and will take up the position from April 1, 2012.
