Don't miss out on Floriade NightFest

Released 24/09/2011

074/11

Floriade NightFest opens next week with five nights of spectacular entertainment and activities under the stars. Floriade NightFest will run from 6.30pm to 10.30pm from Wednesday 28 September to Sunday 2 October 2011.

Now in its fourth year, Floriade NightFest has become a premier event on the Canberra calendar and I encourage Canberrans to get their tickets early to avoid the queues and potentially miss out on all the live comedy, music, cocktails, films under the stars and night markets.

I also urge Canberrans to invite their friends and family from interstate to join them for what promises to be a great event in 2011.

Highlights of this year’s NightFest include:

  • the light and sound spectacular Storm of the Senses in the Rhododendron Gardens;
  • screenings of The Social Network, Julie & Julia, Chocolat and Tangled on a giant screen at Stage 88;
  • the Carnival Stage & Bar where comedians Rod Quantock, Tommy Little and Leo Bonne will have you rolling in the aisles;
  • Garnier World, where you can spoil yourself with complimentary treatments;
  • the Butterfly Lounge featuring DJs Jemist and D’Opus and live performances by Dub Dub Goose and Drum Assault; and
  • cooking demonstrations by well known chefs in the From the Pantry marquee.

Last year’s Floriade NightFest attracted strong crowds and I encourage visitors to buy tickets in advance to avoid missing out.

NightFest Tickets can be purchased from Ticketek at www.ticketek.com.au or by phoning 13 28 49, or at the Information Marquee at Commonwealth Park during Floriade. Limited tickets will be available each night at the Floriade NightFest entry gates from 4.30pm at Regatta Point gate and 5.30pm at Parkes Way gate.

For more information on the program and parking options visit www.floriadeaustralia.com.
