Don’t miss Charny Carny’s Charny’s Got Talent
Dr Chris Bourke is looking forward to being a judge of "Charny’s Got Talent" on the main stage at the Charny Carny this Saturday. Talented young singers, dancers and entertainers will compete for glory in "Charny’s Got Talent" from 4 pm to 6pm.
Dr Bourke says the festival is one of Canberra’s great community events and looks forward to meeting many of the thousands attending the Charny Carny from 12 to 6pm on Saturday.
"As Minister for Education, I am pleased to see the government and Catholic primary schools working together like this. I pay tribute to the schools’ parents committees and the two school principals, Frankie Dowling from Charnwood-Dunlop School and John Bourke from St Thomas Aquinas Primary School, for their leadership and encouragement in this great cooperative event".
Dr Bourke also congratulated the Mt Rogers Scouts who are the third partner in making the event happen. "As a former Scout Group President, I know how much hard work the Scouts do for young people and for the community, and I applaud the Mt Rogers Scouts for their fantastic partnership with the two local schools".
Dr Bourke would not be drawn on if he will be the nice judge or the mean talent quest judge. "You’ll have to find out on Saturday" Dr Bourke said.
